Do you remember when as a kid the world was full of possibilities? When our imagination still soared wild? When the word impossible had no meaning for us? Those were good days. Before we became adults, we believed in pinky swearing, Bigfoot, Santa Clause, tooth fairy, Easter bunny, and more. I remember thinking that someone pinky swearing to me meant they would forever keep their word. However, even as children, we learn disappointment and the pain of a broken promise early.  As a teen, one of my favorite things to do on silent nights was to look out my window, and wish on a star. Now, if you have never wished on a star, here is how it is done; At dusk, go outside, or stand where you can see the heavens, and watch it until the first star pops out. When it does, stare intently at the wishing star and say these magic words:

Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might have the wish I wish tonight…”then close your eyes, make a wish, and believe it will come true.

I know it may sound petty but even as an adult, I still wish upon stars. I’m not necessarily a star person or an indigo child but I believe that the universe responds to our intentions when they are pure. Wishing on a star is akin to wishing over your birthday cake and blowing out the candles, only, with wishing on a star, there are no candles, only your intentions. Being a part of iMiMatch.com reminded me of what it means to wish on a star.
